Where will the underwater park be located? It will be in an area of 30 meters of depth, complying with several security norms, about 800 meters from the harbour of Morro jable. Situated close to the LIC zone (comunity interest zone) created to protect the natural reserves in 2000. The bottom is sandy without life with little current and protected from the wind influence. There is almost no traffic and of little interest for other business (fishing, sports, diving). How the reef will be created? It will be created in an area of 3000m², signalized by a buoy for surface vessels. On the bottom of the sea there will be several wooden objects (vessel, amphora’s) completely cleaned up so there will be no rests of painting, motoroil, iron,... and firmly anchored on the bottom. The artificial reef will be made in different ways. There will be wooden vessels on the bottom, we will create small caves providing refuge and shade for the fishes, made with concrete slabs. In this way they primarly will attract small fishes and with time will come the big ones. This way we create an excellent posibility for university’s and scientist’s related to underwater biology, meteorology, to study the development of underwater life.
